The Essential Requirements for Building up a Successful Coaching Practice
I am sent enquiries frequently from aspiring coaches feel that they’d like to make a vocation in coaching. The first question I ask is always, “why do you want to become a coach?”
Only if they give me a really exact and enthusiastic answer will I continue to ask my second question , “what do you actually think you can offer that’s not already being done by loads of other starving coaches?” Yes, sadly there are countless hundreds of coaches in the world who are not making an adequate living. Never think for one minute that being a coach is a simple method to earn your daily bread.
OK, if you are not now disenchanted and you are still with me, let’s go on. The absolute first thing you have to do is become a specialist. You will find it way easier to become an expert and to conquor a market for your services if you become very good at one thing.
Then ask this question: “what specific benefit will my clients get from employing me?” As an example, will they feel less stressed, or will they be well placed to play a better tactical game, or will they become more influential?
Why I use NLP techniques in my coaching practice is that they enable me to help my clients to become even more effective, more influential in their work.
Therefore you want to find some way to be in a position to credibly offer your service to a target group of people. They must know what they’ll get for their cash when they employ you as their coach.
Find a large market for your services, like say sports. Then refine it down to say football. Then refine it down further to say football in the south west. When you do this it is far easier to see who you should approach.
As an NLP Practitioner my job is, “to show you how to get the feel of using the same behaviours as high achievers to thrive and accomplish everything you have ever visualised for yourself both at work and in your personal life”. I attain results for the workers of major companies like Dell, Yves St.Laurent, J&J, RBI, GM and P&O through business coaching using NLP Techniques.
